A Traeger wood pellet grill is perfect for grilling salmon. It leaves the salmon with a lovely wood-fired flavor, but the smoke is not overpowering. This is one of your favorite salmon recipes because it is incredible simple yet delicious.
Ingredients
2-3 T Costco basil pesto
4 T Butter, melted
2 lbs Salmon filets
Freshly ground black pepper
Directions
Pre-heat your Traeger to 300 degrees. I like to use alder pellets for salmon, but at this cooking temp and the short cook time, any pellet will do.
Melt the butter in the microwave and mix with the pesto. Put the filets in a roasting pan brush the pesto-butter mixture on the filets and add some freshly ground black pepper. Cook for ~15 minutes or just until the salmon is losing the raw, translucent look when probing with a fork. DO NOT OVERCOOK!
